AEEE(Amritha Engineering Entrance Examination) Exam Experience

Hello, everyone. I am Hema Harshini, a first-year undergraduate pursuing Computer Science and Engineering.

INTRODUCTION: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (an Engineering college) is ranked 7th in the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) rankings. It has branches in Amritapuri, Chennai, Amravati, Bangalore, Kochi, Faridabad, and Mysuru, and conducts the AEEE (Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination) for admission into the college. The exam is conducted in both online and offline modes. The time limit is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The exam consists of 100 questions, divided as:

  • Mathematics: 40 questions
  • Physics: 30 questions
  • Chemistry: 30 questions

The marking scheme is +3 for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect answer. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions.

MY EXAM EXPERIENCE: My paper was quite lengthy. All three subjects had lengthy calculations. So, I solved questions that were theory-based, graph-based, and required less calculation first, and then I went through the lengthy questions. This saved a lot of my time instead of wasting time on tough questions. The Mathematics section was the lengthiest in my shift, as the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. This strategy worked very well for me, and I scored very well, making me eligible for Computer Science and Engineering at Amrita Amritapuri.

PREPARATION STRATEGY:

  1. Understanding the Syllabus: Familiarize yourself with the detailed syllabus of AEEE. Focus on the key concepts in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Class 11 and Class 12.
  2. Weekly Targets: Setting weekly targets to complete particular topics and practicing questions on the topics learned helped me a lot.
  3. I solved previous years’ AEEE papers to get a feel of the question pattern and difficulty level. I also took online mock tests to feel the exam environment and improve my time management skills, but I didn’t concentrate on the score initially.
  4. Time management is a must to get good results.

TIPS & TRICKS:

  1. In the exam, allocate time wisely to each section and avoid spending too much time on any single question. Aim to complete the easier questions first, then move on to the more challenging ones.
  2. Stay positive and confident in your preparation.
  3. Keep a calm mind during the exam. Stay focused and avoid panicking if you encounter difficult questions.

Thanks for your time and patience. I hope the content is useful. All the best for your future endeavors.
