BITSAT Exam Experience

Physics:

Chemistry being one of the most important subjects for the cracking of the BITSAT examination, Arihant’s BITSAT Chemistry Practice Book Github is one of the bestseller to enhance the chemistry skills of the students appearing for the examination.

Mathematics:

1. IIT Mathematics Chartered by M. L. Khanna
2. There are numerous Calculus books available on the market but the one that can be recommended as a great source of knowledge is “Problems in Calculus of One Variable” by I. A. Maron.
3. Written by Arihant Experts, this guide is intended to help the students of BITSAT to prepare Mathematics subject comprehensively.

I spent about half a day studying approximately for about 6-8 hours a day for several months before the exam. My approach to preparation was to learn concepts, analyze possible questions, and solve as many practice papers as possible to gauge the type of exam and time-taking nature.

4. English Proficiency: Reading section and critical reading with some questions on vocabulary, grammar and general structure.

• English and Logical Reasoning: This section provided a good practice as the questions were quite easy to answer and also it worked well in terms of time management as the tougher sections were yet to come.
• Chemistry: Taking those concepts into considerations, I was able to do the next subject, Chemistry, with much ease.
• Physics: Slightly more time-consuming given the numerical questions, yet I was able to handle it given the practice that I have on similar exercises.
• Mathematics: Part 5 was left for the last because I knew that it would take the most time and I have had to do comprehensive problem-solving.

From my experience, I can say that the organization of the exam center was appropriate, quiet and everyone was concentrated on passing the exams. The invigilators understood the consciousness levels of all the candidates and made sure all the candidates were comfortable and knowledgeable on the conduct. The test interface was designed as a computer-based test that did not present the user with any difficulties, and there were no software-related issues encountered during the process.

I was satisfied to the level of my results because I got a good enough rank to get an arbitrary admission to core disciplines like Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering at BITS Pilani. However, my target was to score a preferred course in Computer Science, which was slightly higher than the marks obtained. Looking at the events in my life and trying to analyze my chances of becoming a Computer Science student it is better to not pursue the core branches, but find other ways, how to achieve the Goal.

All in all, I could say that I had a rather stressful year preparing for BITSAT, but it was worth it. It aided me understand reasons for consistent hard work, proper division of time and planning before the examinations. In this regard, I did not get the opportunity of achieving it in the immediate future, though the experience was worth it and learned skills and strength to continue the pursuit of this dreams.
