CBSE Board Exam Experience

I completed my secondary education at Rose Public School, Darbhanga, an institution affiliated with the CBSE in Bihar. I chose a private board over the local board due to the transparency of the examination process. The CBSE provides fair examinations, a feature lacking in the Bihar Board. I would like to share my journey, from preparation to results

Preparation Phase

Many students start preparing for CBSE exams at the beginning of the year, but I wasn’t that type of student. I took the CBSE exams seriously only two months before the exams, so you could say I like to play the game until the last ball. I am not a studious child, but I still managed to score over 90% in subjects like Maths and English, which are considered difficult. I will now share my secret on how I achieved 90+ marks in these subjects with just two months of preparation

Resources

For CBSE exams, you don’t have to rely solely on textbooks like RD Sharma, RS Aggarwal, or S Chand. While these books offer additional insights, they aren’t the only resources for scoring well. It’s worth noting that more knowledge can sometimes lead to more confusion, while less knowledge can result in less confusion

To excel in CBSE exams, you only need one book-NCERT

Study NCERT books thoroughly. Aim to comprehend and grasp every sentence within the book. For instance, when it comes to learning mathematics through NCERT, I made sure to understand each and every example provided in the book.

While NCERT Exemplar can be explored, its benefits may not be as significant

Exam Experience:

I always read the instructions and questions carefully before starting. Time management was key, so I stuck to my plan of setting aside specific times for each part. When I came across difficult questions, I used methods like eliminating wrong answers and logical thinking.

Result

As you’re aware, waiting for CBSE results takes over two months, which can be quite anxiety-inducing. However, once the results are finally announced, the feeling of immense relief washes over you.

Final Thoughts

My final advice would be to stay consistent. If I had studied regularly, I might have achieved a 90% score, but I’m content with my 88%. Consistency is key to achieving your goals
