Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering Admission experience

After completing my Diploma at Government Polytechnic, Ambad , I am seeking admission to the second year of engineering through the CAP process. After the results are announced, the registration process for DSE begins. I completed my registration first. After that, the actual verification process starts. For this, I require the following documents: Income certificate, Diploma mark sheet, 10th marksheet, EWS certificate. Since I am from the open category, I do not require a caste certificate. After the verification process, the actual CAP process will commence.

I explored options for pursuing engineering through direct admission into the second year. Following my diploma’s final year, I searched for the best colleges for computer engineering in Maharashtra on YouTube. While many colleges had admission requirements with ranks far higher than mine, I formulated a strategy. I compiled a list of colleges where the previous year’s cutoff was within 5% of my percentage and researched them extensively.

I sought assistance from various websites such as collegedeko.com, collegedunia.com, shiksha.com, and my favorite, Careers360. Additionally, I found guidance from different YouTube channels like those of Dinesh sir, Ritik Meghwani, and the particularly helpful Toshib Tutorials for direct second-year admissions. I contacted various seniors and asked them about their strategies. I also inquired about the actual culture of their college. Additionally, I reached out to many relatives who work in the IT industry to get their advice.

In the first round of CAP, I was allotted R.H. Sapat College of Engineering, Management Studies, and Research in Nashik because of my low percentage. I was very depressed that day because I wanted a college in Pune. I contacted my friend, who informed me that in the second round, the seats reserved for minorities that remain vacant are converted to open seats. So, I selected colleges with minority seats that were not completely filled, such as G.H. Raisoni.

I also checked the cutoff of the first CAP round and made a list of colleges with cutoffs up to 2% higher than my percentage, up to those with a cutoff of 83%. Initially, I decided to choose only the Computer branch, but later, I considered Computer, IT, and AIDS branches as well. I filled out the form for the second round and got a college in Pune. I was admitted to Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering, and I was pretty happy that day.

However, I went for the third round and selected colleges ranked higher than the one I was allotted, but unfortunately, I did not get any changes. After all the rounds, I visited the college and completed the admission process.

By meticulously selecting colleges based on their previous year’s cutoff percentages, I successfully secured admission to a good college. This process allowed me to find a suitable college that matched my academic performance and aspirations.
