First Mentor Coaching Experience For Web Development

In this blog, I’m gonna share the experience of Web Development. Nowadays, most kids are familiar with the web development building blocks: HTML, CSS, and JS. However, my first encounter with HTML happened while pursuing 11th standard. Till then, I never knew about the HTML structure. The reason is that I don’t have anyone from my family from a tech background, and the programming isn’t included. I learned about this through a 2-day workshop that could be a career option to pursue and get entry in the tech field or IT field.

It has always been seen as a lucrative career option; however, I didn’t understand that. But it stuck somewhere in my mind from my childhood. I’ve been interested in learning computers. I used to play games on them and explore new things on the web.

But it stuck somewhere in my mind. From childhood, I’ve been interested in learning computers. My interest never went down, and I decided to make a career in IT as a software engineer.

Academic Insight:

As we know, God has better plans beyond our thinking. I didn’t get admission to engineering college and took a different path, B.Sc.(CS). During three years of the program, I learned the basics of programming, such as C, C++, OOPs, and MS-Suite. Then, I decided to pursue MCA to learn more advanced concepts.

When I Become Familiar with Web Development

One fine day, one of my seniors visited our college and talked with our Training & Placement cell head about web development learning. It’s a great chance to engage the students in something interesting and productive.

During MCA, we need to submit minor and major projects; it’s important. I went to meet my senior to discuss F2F and asked to join. It was a three-month internship period during which we got familiar with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and the basics of CRUD.

Learning Experience at the Institute

I have no understanding of the building blocks, not even the structure of DOM. On the first day, they introduced us to the structure. They provided us with resources, tutorials, and YouTube channel links so we could get an insight into the full course and practice it at home.

Frontend Development Learning Experience Assignments

In the initial 10 days, they taught us the basics of HTML and then started CSS. HTML is just text but to make that text more appealing and structured, we need to implement CSS.

Practice Assignments:

To strengthen our understanding of HTML and CSS and evaluate our learning, they gave us assignments:

  • Login Form
  • Registration Form
  • A basic web page
  • FB Homepage Replica

When we successfully learned how to a webpage style, we moved forward to Bootstrap.

Responsiveness is a buzzing word around the industry. It all relates to making the app’s appearance,c content, and layout fit to all screens and devices. So, we got to learn through Bootstrap. It was a bit complex, as it was also new and difficult to learn classes for sure thing. Everything is customizable through this framework from the navbar and sidebar to the footer. It was just a front-end part.

Web development does not end here. It’s a combination of frontend, database management, and backend support.

Designing a view is not the end of the job. We also need to manage the client-server request with successful data fetching.

Backend Development Learning Experience

I made a blog page to manage and learn the connectivity from the front end to the back end. I have to implement CRUD operations here.

Practice Assignment:

For this, I’ve created a database and some fields. The task is to connect the database with a page to store the data, executing some SQL queries. Also, we need to edit and delete the data.

Each one is a challenge. It’s quite normal for a beginner. However, it was enjoyable to see the transition using tags and how a web page existed before being linked to the web. I learned how much time and effort a developer puts into it.

When I got to understand the flow of a website, it got easier to customise an NGO website as a minor project to submit and a vision of what I want to do in my life.

Best Thing of Web Development Coaching Experience:

What I like the most about this institute is its intuitive, interactive, and practical project-based learning. Whenever we have confusion, we can clear doubts and have one-on-one mentorship. He always motivates us to think innovatively, understand the logic, and make meaningful implementations.

Recommendation:

I recommend all students learn the essential career skills to smoothen their professional journey. Each year in your UG and PG program, pick a skill and practice it. This will strengthen your learning set and help you build an impressive portfolio, which will help you land a job.

Conclusion:

When I first visited the institute, I was a bit nervous, but after investing three months in learning the concepts, I have the confidence to pursue my career as a web developer!

In 2024, web development is still a lucrative career, and any beginner can get started with it—you don’t need a degree. There are many free and paid online platforms providing assistance and certification for web development. React, Angular, and Vue.js are in demand. One can enrol in these courses and start a career as a salaried person in a company or as a freelancer.
