GATE ECE 2024 EXAM EXPERIENCE

I appeared for the GATE ECE 2024 exam, and here is my experience:

The aptitude section consisted of 10 questions, with 5 worth 2 marks each and 5 worth 1 mark each. Similarly, the Mathematics section was worth 13 marks.

This time, Electronic Devices (ED) had the highest weightage, with almost 7-8 marks directly or indirectly related to this topic. One question was asked from COA, and 3-4 marks of questions were from digital electronics (including one question on Q map and another on Sequential circuit).

Basic questions from network theory, such as basic mesh/nodal analysis, were present. Control System questions were of moderate difficulty.

In the Communication System, a power calculation question was included, ranging from moderate to difficult. EMFT and Signal and System questions were moderate.

For me, the Analog section ranged from moderate to difficult.

Overall, the paper pattern for this year was moderate to difficult. The AIR 1 candidate, RAJA MAJHI, scored 84.67 marks out of 100.

As a 3rd-year student, many of us faced the challenge of syllabus incompletion. However, with proper consistency, this exam can be cracked easily. It requires 6-7 months of preparation to achieve good marks and rank.
