Google Work Experience as a Software Engineering Intern

Project: Changing this mode off to one second enabled the security system to send alerts only when an intruder was almost breaking in thereby saving energy costs.
Overview:
In the internship at Google, I was so excited to join the Map section and undertake the project of revamping real-time location marketability. The purpose was to get better feedback from the user and offer a more suitable and comfortable environment for Google Maps clients in all countries around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Worked jointly with product managers, designers, and engineers to define the requirements, and transform these into functional design artifacts.
- The history of the resources involved is very rich for the user. For this, we have conducted user surveys and interviews to understand user needs and pain points.
- Attend the detailed design mockups and prototypes for visualizing and iterating new elements and improvements. Create a better experience for website visitors with SEO-optimized content and clear CTAs.
- Applied hands-on HTML, CSS, and Javascript modules to achieve the improved front end.
- Worked closely with the QA team, testing and bug-fixing each new feature intensively by them.
Achievements:
- Properly rolled out the new UI design – this increased the user’s engagement rate by 20% within the first month.
- User and stakeholders’ appreciative responses are reflected by ease of use and a more user-friendly site.
- After that, ran the project by the leadership, wherein I demonstrated the redesign’s impact on the user experience and engagement.
Key Learnings
- Obtained a thorough grasp of user-focused design strategies and their practical implementation while working on a specific product in an actual business environment.
- I am proficient in front-end development & UI/UX design effective technical skills at a more technical level.
- Displayed good teamwork, communication skills, and speed of working in a cross-functional team.
Impact
- I made the User experience of Google Maps, a product that is used by billions of people around the world better.
- Learned the principles of a managerial role such as prioritization, problem-solving, and project management.
Conclusion
My internship at Google was a mighty educational training that justified my potential in implementing high-impact projects, and led me to do something that really transformed the lives of Google Maps users. Indeed, I feel happy and hopeful, since I believe in the future of getting experience I gathered and in the chance to have this experience.
