HackMIT Hackathon Experience 2022

Event: HackMIT 2022

Team: Four members, all computer science students

Preparation:

• Formed a team with three friends and brainstormed ideas focusing on solving real-world problems.
• Prepared by attending workshops on new technologies and previous hackathon projects.

Event Day:

• Idea: Developed a real-time health monitoring system using IoT and machine learning.
• Execution: Worked non-stop for 36 hours. Divided tasks among team members – hardware setup, backend development, machine learning model training, and frontend development.
• Challenges: Faced issues with sensor data accuracy and integration. Solved them by thorough testing and refining the data processing algorithms.

Presentation:

• Demonstrated our project to the judges, showcasing live data monitoring and predictive analytics for health anomalies.
• Answered questions about scalability, data privacy, and future improvements.

Outcome:

• Won the second prize. The judges appreciated our innovative approach and practical application.
• Gained immense knowledge in IoT, teamwork, and effective project presentation.
• These experiences not only boosted my confidence but also provided invaluable insights into different aspects of the tech industry.
