IGDTUW Admission Experience

In 2021, I embarked on an exciting and challenging journey that culminated in my admission to Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW). The process was thorough, involving several steps and meeting specific criteria, but ultimately rewarding. Here’s a look into my experience, from the initial application to the final admission.

Application Process:

The application process for JAC counselling was structured and required careful attention to detail. The first step involved paying the JAC Delhi registration-cum-counselling fee of Rs. 1500. I logged into the application portal using my JEE Main 2024 application form number and name to initiate the payment.

Next, I filled out the JAC Delhi application form. This step involved entering my JEE Main 2024 roll number, date of birth, nationality, and class 12th passing certificate details. After providing this information, I completed my details and created a password, which made my JEE Main roll number my user ID for future logins.

Once registered, I moved on to filling in my preferences. I logged into the account and selected the institutes and courses I preferred, making sure to include as many options as possible. This strategic selection was crucial in enhancing my chances of securing a desirable seat.

After completing the registration process, the system automatically locked my selected preferences. Finally, I submitted my application form and took a printout for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the B.TECH course at IGDTUW, I needed to secure at least 60% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in my class 12th exams. Additionally, having English as a subject and passing each subject separately was mandatory. Crucially, I also needed a valid JEE Main 2021 rank (Paper – 1).

I ensured my eligibility by focusing on my studies throughout high school, achieving well above the required 60% aggregate in the key subjects. English was part of my curriculum, and I passed all subjects with flying colours. For the JEE Main exam, I dedicated months to rigorous preparation, balancing conceptual understanding with extensive practice. My efforts paid off when I secured a rank that met the admission criteria for IGDTUW.

Reasons for Choosing IGDTUW:

Several factors influenced my decision to attend IGDTUW. Firstly, the university’s strong reputation and its focus on empowering women in STEM fields were significant draws. IGDTUW consistently ranks among the top engineering institutions in India, known for its excellence in education and research.

The knowledgeable faculty at IGDTUW was another major factor. Knowing I would be learning from experienced professors who are experts in their fields assured me that I would receive a high-quality education.

The comprehensive and flexible B.TECH curriculum at IGDTUW also appealed to me. The program offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, with specialized courses catering to emerging technologies and industry demands.

The location in Delhi was advantageous, providing numerous opportunities for internships, industry collaborations, and networking. The vibrant city environment added to the appeal, offering a rich cultural and educational experience.

The state-of-the-art campus facilities at IGDTUW, including modern laboratories, classrooms, and libraries, promise a conducive learning environment. Additionally, the university’s focus on holistic development through various clubs, societies, and events aligned with my personal and professional growth goals.

Finally, IGDTUW’s mission to support and promote women in STEM resonated deeply with me. Being part of a community that encourages women to excel in technical fields was inspiring and motivating.

Admission Examination Experience: (JEE MAINS)

Preparing for the JEE Main exam was a challenging yet rewarding experience. The exam format included multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. To prepare, I balanced my studies with structured revision schedules and practice tests, focusing on both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

On the exam day, I felt a mix of nerves and excitement. The exam was intense, but I managed to stay focused and confident, thanks to my thorough preparation. When the results were announced, I was thrilled to see that my hard work had paid off with a rank that qualified me for admission to IGDTUW.

Conclusion:

Reflecting on my journey, the application process, meeting the eligibility criteria, and preparation for the JEE Main exam were all challenging yet fulfilling experiences. Each step brought me closer to my goal of studying at IGDTUW. The support from my family, teachers, and friends played a crucial role in my success. Being admitted to IGDTUW in 2021 marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life, filled with opportunities for learning and growth in the field of engineering.
