IIT-JEE Entrance Exam Experience

The journey towards Engineering:

After my board results, I have been given time to decide what I wanna pursue. I came up with B. tech Biotechnology as my choice in one of the top deemed universities and I’ve applied for that and we were waiting for the offer.

However, my parents were not that sure that I would get admission there because of my grades on board. And so we have got admission to a college affiliated with Anna University which doesn’t possess the course which I’ve decided to choose. So I took Electronics and Communication Engineering as my major and the admission was confirmed.

Meanwhile, the next day after this admission process was over I got my offer for B. tech Biotechnology at that deemed university which I applied for and I couldn’t believe has happened because of my JEE score.

Entrance Preparation and Curiosity:

Unlike other aspirants, I was not very productive and interested in the preparation process. I was gradually preparing my school syllabus and not any other syllabus related to the entrance.

I was not provided with any extra coaching, especially for the entrance so my interest towards this was not that huge. Even though I was curious about it everyone was taking it seriously and preparing a lot to secure good grades in it. Even parents were also forcing their children towards this exam preparation. And so I just wanna give it a try for myself too.

Exam Experience:

Once I decided to take the exam I was very curious and excited about the exam and collected a lot of info and syllabus for the exam, even though I was not very interested. And so I’ve decided to give a blind attempt just to know what it is about.

1st Attempt:

As I said earlier it was just a blind attempt but the questions were mostly from by board syllabus so I was able to answer most of them. Though it was a blind attempt I was able to score around 70 percentile.

After which I got an interest in it and started my preparation towards it deeply and decided to give another attempt to get into it in depth.

2nd Attempt:

This time I had an experience of the previous attempt and also some preparation for the exam. But I was unable to give my best. Yes! I scored less than the 1st attempt.

I’m not discouraging anyone from making several attempts on a particular exam, but I’m just insisting you future aspirants not enter the exam with overconfidence. Though you are a topper, with several other experiences and also you may be with the fullest preparation, but face the exam with a limited confidence level which will just restrict your fear.
