JPMorgan & Chase Interview Experience

Hello Everyone!

I’m excited to share my journey through the interview process for a summer internship at JP Morgan, a prestigious global financial services firm with a storied history and a broad spectrum of financial expertise.

The Selection Process

  • Initial Screening: The challenge began with an email from my college’s placement cell, inviting students with a CGPA above 8.5 to apply. With a CGPA of 8.96, I was eligible and promptly submitted my application.
  • Online Coding Exam: In early April, I sat for the coding exam on the Hackerrank platform. The test comprised two coding problems—one on swap parity and the other on server selection. Despite the time constraints, I managed to solve most of the test cases.

The Interview Rounds:

  • Hirevue Interview: Two weeks post-exam, I received an invitation for a 20-minute AI-generated interview on Hirevue. The setup required a quiet environment with proper lighting. The interview posed two questions:
  • Communication Challenge: I was asked how I would handle a situation where I couldn’t communicate effectively.
  • Explaining Concepts: Another scenario involved explaining a subject to a friend who was struggling to understand it.

Reflections and Tips:

  • Communication and Confidence: My key takeaway is the importance of clear communication and confidence during interviews. These qualities can significantly influence the interviewer’s perception.

Results: As I await the outcome, I reflect on this being my first-ever interview experience.

I hope my experience provides insight and encouragement to others preparing for their interviews. Remember, your ability to articulate and your self-assurance are your greatest allies. Best of luck to all!
