My Journey from being an Average student To IIIT bhagalpur

So this is my journey to IIIT Bhagalpur. I was not so brilliant in my studies in my early days. My grades revolved around C and D which is 50-60%. But as I grew, I got inclined towards creating scientific tools/Gadgets that can help us humans live an easy life. With that as my motivation I constantly tried to increase my grades and kept my focus mostly on competitive exams.

But as you can see, I was not 100% successful. I didn’t get an IIT instead got enrolled in IIITBH. But it’s fine because the fact that matters is your dedication to the course you are doing and the motivation to keep going. Now, let’s talk about how I got into IIIT.

I started studying for JEE when I was in 9th standard. I didn’t take tuitions in 9th and 10th. I studied through books which resulted in an attitude of studying on my own even if there was no one to guide me or teach me. This is very important since the great scientists that we know about also didn’t have people to guide them in their journey. I somehow managed the school studies and competitive studies, It was difficult. Finally, I achieved 90% marks in 10th(2020) and got enrolled in a local tuition named ALBEDO during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our classes were held online. That was a time when I finally got a smartphone. This was the turning point in my JEE journey. I got addicted to playing PUBG/BGMI. Studies continued as usual, same as you guys, nothing special happened. Then came the CBSE 12th exams, and I passed with 94% in PCM +English+ CS + Physical Education. I was overly confident about JEE.

Then I went to give the JEE mains paper and It was bad … There was a technical error on my PC with resulted in me writing my paper 20 min late. I panicked, eventually got 88 percentile, and also was not able to qualify for the JEE advanced. Then I deleted BGMI/social media apps. Focus on my studies. Joined PW Prayas 2.0 batch in the drop year and finally got 95.7 something in JEE main 2023, but could not clear the overall cut-off of JEE advanced. So IIT was out. I filled in the JOSAA choices keeping CSE at the top. I wanted CSE. So I studied last year’s OR/CR but the only institute I was getting CSE were the newly built IIIT’s. I got CSE in IIIT Bhagalpur in JOSAA round 2 and then I froze it and got out of JOSAA. Confirmed my seat and started my College journey. Currently, I am in 2nd year at IIITBH.
