My Journey to Full stack Web Development

I am currently in my second year pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning, from Galgotais University. I am also a Full Stack Web Developer. Today I would like to share my Web Development Journey.

Why did I choose Web Development?

After the completion of my first year, we were given summer holidays of about three months, (July – September). To fully utilize this period, I searched for various skills that I could learn. Many seniors in my college suggested that I should learn web development to make good projects. So, I decided to begin with Web Development.

Resources

Since I was a complete Beginner in this area, I started searching for complete curated courses starting from the very basics. I found a paid course on Udemy – “The Complete Web Development Bootcamp” by Dr. Angelia Yu. The course was very very popular with a hundred thousand five-star reviews the course curriculum was also very beginner-friendly. So I decided to purchase it and start my journey with this course. However, apart from Udemy, I also followed several articles published on the internet, I also used to watch several YouTube videos for something that I found a bit tricky in the course.

Initial Experience

The course started with basic HTML, different tags, elements, etc., followed by CSS. By this time I used to spend hours applying different CSS properties and seeing how HTML changes. The course is curated in such a way that it engages the learner a lot. I never felt bored or lazy during this course. I have also created some minor projects with this.

Intermediate Level

After HTML, CSS and JS. I started the intermediate level of this course, Learning about advanced Javascript, JQuery, Node.js, express.js, API, and Databases. It was a bit difficult but never boring, I used to code along with the instructor to reduce any chances of errors, and then I completed the practice given.

Advanced Level

The advanced level of the course is very time-consuming. It involves a lot of practice and a very clear understanding of the concept. This was the section that took about a month to excel and make good projects.

Conclusion:

I am about to complete my second year in just a few weeks. This summer, I have applied for many summer internships in the web development domain. I found this skill very helpful for my career. I will enhance my knowledge in Web Development with my upcoming internship.
