National Institute of Technology Trichy (NIT-T) Campus Experience

My journey as a participant!

“National Institute of Technology” is a dream place for most of us and I feel much proud to share my experience at NIT-T by this article.

Yes, though I’m not a student of NIT, I was amazed by the campus which was visited by me as a participant. As we all are aware of , NIT organizes a grand event named as “Pragyan” every year in which student from various university around the country can participate and win exciting awards.

Myself and my team got an opportunity to participate in an internal hackathon under the grand event “Pragyan-2024”. That was an amazing opportunity to upgrade our self to next level of ideation.

About the event:

The event Pragyan consists of many workshops on the booming trends such as AI and so on by which students can have a clear ideation from many ambassadors and various corporates too. The event also conducts many internal hackathons in one of which we got this wonderful opportunity.

At this “Ingenium Hackathon” we’ve gone through 3 selection rounds, which was on online mode and so we were longing for the campus visit. Finally much glad to be a part of the final round of the Ingenium Hackathon by which we got the opportunity to visit the campus to showcase our prototype.

Campus environment and people:

Once we entered the campus we were amazed by the atmosphere. Students from various part of the country were very much curious about their participation at NIT. After all the verification we were asked to move towards the golden jubilee block to take part in the final round of the hackathon.

We were honestly stunned by looking at the demos from various domains such as aerospace, healthcare etc., There was also a showcase of the launch of chandrayaan-3 from the team ISRO and other space centers.

There were about more than five teams under each theme of the hackathon and we belonged to the theme defence. Each team was provided with an individual stalls in which they can prepare for the showcase of their prototypes.

Final Round and Judging process:

DAY – 1:

At the final round we have showcased our prototype under the theme defence for the safety of military soldiers. It was an soldiers health and position tracking system. We made everything ready for our prototype and the judging process began.

We were very much excited and thrilled about the judging process as the judges were from DRDO, Ministry of defence, Govt. Of India. Once we showcased our prototype we’ve gone through a query session for about 15 mins which made our day.

Results:

DAY – 2:

We were asked to visit the campus again on the next day to know the results of the event. When even participation at NIT makes us feel proud, we were very much delighted about the results we got. Yeah our “Team NOVA” had been declared as the 2nd runner up of the Hackathon with cash award of ₹10,000.

At last we left the campus with mixed emotions and a heartwarming thanks for providing us with such an wonderful and unforgettable experience which will be cherished by us as memory for lifetime.
