NCE Chandi Campus Experience
Nalanda College of Engineering (NCE) in Chandi, Bihar, is a well-known engineering college which comes under Bihar Engineering University (BEU). As a second-year Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) student, I’ve had many memorable experiences here.
About the Campus
NCE Chandi functions from a 51.64 acre (21 ha) campus in Chandi, Bihar. It is located 17.3 km distance from the District’s main city Bihar Sharif and 42 km from the State’s capital city Patna. Five buildings including a laboratory, workshops, girls’ and boys’ hostels, and a residence for the principal have been constructed at a cost of around Rs 40 crores in the first phase.
First Year Experience
Classes and Professors
At NCE, the first and second semesters of the CSE course include subjects like C, C++, Data Structures, Algorithms, Oops, and more. I spent a lot of time in labs, working on computers and learning to code. This practical approach helped me apply what I learned in theory to real-world problems.
Clubs and Activities
I have been a part of many technical clubs i.e. Coding club and robotics club. I have also participated in the tech fest organized by our seniors last year, named “INCEPTRA” and helped my team members in projects that helped me improve my technical skills. Also, The Cultural Club arranged events like dance, music, and drama performances for us to explore our creative sides.
Festivals and Events
Two major cultural events at NCE that happened in my first year were “Saraswati Puja” and “Deepsangam”. I was also appointed as coordinator of our dance society. These events were fun and helped us develop organizational skills.
Academic Facilities
The central library of NCE has a wide range of books and digital resources. We have several laboratories and lecture hall for different subjects in CSE.
There are separate hostels for boys and girls. We have an auditorium and a cafeteria which serves a variety of tasty and healthy food.
Placement Cell
The T& P Cell helps us prepare for jobs. They organized various training sessions, mock interviews, and placement drives. The cell has good connections with companies, helped us find internships and job opportunities.
Conclusion
Being a second-year CSE student at Nalanda College of Engineering, Chandi, has been a wonderful experience. NCE is more than just a college; it’s a community where we grow, learn, and prepare for our futures. As I continue my journey here, I am confident that the experiences and lessons from NCE will help me achieve my goals.
