Newgen Software Interview Experience

In October 2024, during my final year (4th year) of studies, Newgen Software visited our college to hire for the role of Software Engineer for CS-IT related branches. The selection process consisted of three rounds:

Round 1: Online Assessment (90 minutes)

This online test included easy to medium-level aptitude questions. Having practiced the aptitude section on Beginner for Beginner [https://www.w3wiki.net/aptitude-for-placements/] proved very helpful for this and other companies’ placement processes. I performed well and was selected for the interview round.

Round 2: Interview Round (20-30 minutes)

The interview took place on-campus. I introduced myself, discussed my hackathon experiences, and answered technical questions. These included:

* Differences between C++ and C

* SQL queries to retrieve the top 50 rows and the minimum two values from a specific column

* Coding a bubble sort algorithm

I answered all questions confidently, and within 15 minutes, I was informed that I had progressed to the HR round.

Round 3: HR Round (15 minutes)

Held on the same day, this round involved two HR representatives. They asked me to introduce myself, inquired about my family background, residence, and participation in other placement drives.

I answered truthfully, and I received the offer within 4-5 days! I was thrilled to be selected as a Software Engineer, alongside 7 other candidates.
