Program to count the number of consonants in a word
Write a program to count the number of consonants in a given word. Consonants are the letters of the English alphabet excluding vowels (βaβ, βeβ, βiβ, βoβ, βuβ).
Examples:
Input: βprogrammingβ
Output: 8
Explanation: The eight consonants are: βpβ, βrβ, βgβ, βrβ, βmβ, βmβ, βnβ, βgβ)Input: βhelloβ
Output: 3
Explanation: There are three consonants: βhβ, βlβ, βlβ
Approach: To solve the problem, follow the below idea:
The problem can be solved by iterating through the entire word character by character and for each character, check if the character is a vowel. If the character is βaβ or βeβ or βiβ or βoβ or βuβ, then it is a vowel otherwise it is a consonant. If the character is a consonant, increment the answer by 1.

- Initialize a variable to store the count of consonants.
- Iterate through each character in the word.
- Check if the character is a consonant (not a vowel).
- If it is a consonant, increment the count.
- Print the final count.
