ReactJS Onsen UI GestureDetector Component
ReactJS Onsen-UI is a popular front-end library with a set of React components that are designed to developing HTML5 hybrid and mobile web apps in a beautiful and efficient way. GestureDetector Component allows the user to detect finger gestures within a wrapped element. We can use the following approach in ReactJS to use the Onsen-UI GestureDetector Component.
GestureDetector Props:
- onDrag: It is a callback function that is called when the user drags in any direction.
- onDragLeft: It is a callback function that is called when the user drags left.
- onDragRight: It is a callback function that is called when the user drags right.
- onDragUp: It is a callback function that is called when the user drags up.
- onDragDown: It is a callback function that is called when the user drags down.
- onHold: It is a callback function that is called when the user holds.
- onRelease: It is a callback function that is called when the user releases.
- onSwipe: It is a callback function that is called when the user swipes in any direction.
- onSwipeLeft: It is a callback function that is called when the user swipes left.
- onSwipeRight: It is a callback function that is called when the user swipes right.
- onSwipeUp: It is a callback function that is called when the user swipes up.
- onSwipeDown: It is a callback function that is called when the user swipes down.
- onTap: It is a callback function that is called when the user taps.
- onDoubleTap: It is a callback function that is called when the user double taps.
- onPinch: It is a callback function that is called when the user pinches in or out.
- onPinchIn: It is a callback function that is called when the user pinches in.
- onPinchOut: It is a callback function that is called when the user pinches out.
- onTouch: It is a callback function that is called when the user touches it.
- onTransform: It is a callback function that is called when the user transforms.
- onRotate: It is a callback function that is called when the user rotates.
Creating React Application And Installing Module:
-
Step 1: Create a React application using the following command:
npx create-react-app foldername
-
Step 2: After creating your project folder i.e. foldername, move to it using the following command:
cd foldername
-
Step 3: After creating the ReactJS application, Install the required module using the following command:
npm install onsenui react-onsenui
Project Structure: It will look like the following.
Example: Now write down the following code in the App.js file. Here, App is our default component where we have written our code.
App.js
import React from 'react' ; import 'onsenui/css/onsen-css-components.css' ; import { GestureDetector } from 'react-onsenui' ; export default function App() { return ( <div style={{ display: 'block' , width: 500, paddingLeft: 30 }}> <h6>ReactJS Onsen-UI GestureDetector Component</h6> <GestureDetector onTap={() => console.log( 'You just tapped!!' )} onDragRight={() => console.log( 'You just dragged Right!!' )} > <div style={{ backgroundColor: 'green' , width: '500px' , height: '300px' }}> Make your Gesture here! </div> </GestureDetector> </div> ); } |
Step to Run Application: Run the application using the following command from the root directory of the project:
npm start
Output: Now open your browser and go to http://localhost:3000/, you will see the following output:
