Samsung Interview Experience For SDE (On-Campus)

Samsung came to our college YMCA in March for the role of SDE. They were hiring in very low numbers as the recession was ongoing. The eligibility for the registration was as follows:

Eligibility:

  • Only B. Tech CS and CS with specialization were allowed (Not even B. Tech IT was allowed).
  • 10th and 12th both above 60%.
  • CGPA >= 7.

A total of 135 students registered for the placement. There were 3 rounds. The description of each is as follows:

Round 1 (Coding test):

This test happened in a college computer cell in front of Samsung invigilators. There was only 1 question that needed to be done in 3 hours. There were 10 test cases, and you can submit the test only when all these test cases are clear. The question was of medium difficulty and was based on the Binary Search algorithm. The question was something like finding a value of N at which given equation values are equal to the input integer.

Round 2: (Technical Interview):

15 students cleared the round and 5 were on the waiting list. In this round, they asked the intermediate DSA questions related to Graph and Tree Data Structure. For example: How to detect cycle in graph, LCA in Tree etc. Along with this core CS fundamentals and programming language-related questions were asked. This round was of medium difficulty.

Round 3 (HR Round):

This round was very chill. Only some basic HR-related questions were asked.

At last, only 5 students out of all 135 registered were selected for the role.
