Sun Life Global Interview Experience (On-Campus) 2023

I recently had the privilege of participating in the campus placement process for Sun Life Global, a renowned organization in the financial services sector. The journey comprised several stages, including an online assessment, technical interviews, and a final HR round. Here’s a detailed account of my interview experience:

Online Assessment

The initial stage involved an online assessment, which consisted of two coding questions focusing on arrays or strings, along with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the concepts of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) and basic programming outputs. I successfully cleared this assessment round, paving the way for further interviews.

First Round Interview

The first round of interviews was conducted by a humble and approachable interviewer who immediately put me at ease. He began by inquiring about my projects and delving into their functionalities and implementations. Additionally, there were discussions on OOP concepts, with a particular emphasis on inheritance. I was asked to provide a real-life example of inheritance and to write code illustrating this concept. Furthermore, SQL queries were posed, with a focus on finding the second or third largest values in a dataset. I managed to navigate through this round successfully.

Second Round Interview

The second round comprised a mix of technical and behavioural questions. More in-depth discussions on my projects ensued, along with a focus on understanding my role and contributions. Additionally, there were discussions about my background and interests. I was able to articulate my experiences effectively, leading to a successful outcome in this round as well.

Third Round Interview (HR Round)

In the third round, which was primarily an HR interview, I faced general HR questions aimed at gauging my suitability for the organization and team dynamics. Topics such as career aspirations, work ethics, and alignment with company values were explored. I approached these questions with sincerity and clarity, aiming to present myself as a suitable candidate for the role.

Final Outcome:

Despite clearing all previous rounds, I was not selected to proceed to the final round of interviews. While this outcome was disappointing, I view it as an opportunity for growth and learning. I remain grateful for the chance to participate in the interview process and for the valuable insights gained along the way.

Overall, my experience with Sun Life Global’s campus placement process was enriching and enlightening. I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to applying the lessons learned in my future endeavours.
