TCS Interview Experience

Step 1:

Registration of the form via the TCS Next Step portal (link), there will be a lot of tests conducted by TCS, so beware of all those tests and platforms where the test has been conducted. There was a placement test in my 3rd year called Code Vita, and during this test, if you even solve just 1 question out of 6, then it’s likely that you have qualified for the interview.NOTE: Do not copy any other solutions that are posted on Telegram or any other logic. Although it’s very easy to say, to be honest, I uploaded my solution during the test on YouTube, and unfortunately, I didn’t qualify for this. As soon as the TCS for the final year test began, I filled out the form and gave the test with zero hope. and luckily, I got selected.

Step 2:

The test included the following sections:-

  1. Verbal ability (24 questions – 30 min)
  2. Reasoning  (30 questions – 50 min)
  3. Numerical  (26 questions – 40 min)
  4. Programming Logic  (10 questions – 15 min)
  5. Coding 1  (1 question – 15 min)
  6. Coding 2  (1 question – 30 min)

After registration of those documents, you will have to give a test, which will comprise of APTITUDE and 2 DSA QUESTIONS.

For aptitude, I practiced at indiabix. (link embedded) This is one of the best websites to practice on for apti. Almost most of the companies pick a question directly from here and upload it in their question set. so make a habit of practicing from indiabix.

(I practiced almost 200 to 300 questions in aptitude  from here.)

  • Percentage
  • Profit and Loss
  • Probability
  • Time and Work
  • Height and Distance
  • Quadratic Equations
  • Logarithms
  • LCM and HCF

Data Interpretation:

  • Bar Graph
  • Pie Chart
  • Table Chart

Verbal

  • Blood Relations
  • Active and Passive Sentences
  • Omitted Sentences

These topics are crucial for your preparation in each respective section. Focusing on these areas will help you build a strong foundation and improve your performance in the aptitude and verbal sections of the interview. Good luck!

TCS takes one of the hardest aptitudes I ever have been given.

you can’t go to the previous question once you submit your answer.

After sitting for almost 2 hours during the test. The next session will start which is the coding round. at my time there were 2 questions one about the array and the 2nd about graph. I remember the 1st question as it was the only coding question that I was able to solve.I will provide the like: it was somewhat equal to this question:https://www.w3wiki.net/find-the-row-with-maximum-number-1s/you can code in your favorite language which is C++ java., python, js so no need to worry about language but its preferable you do it in c++/java during your initial learning.

Step 3: (Interview)

  • Received an interview call from TCS after successfully passing the initial steps.
  • TCS provided details of the interviewer beforehand, which helped in preparing an introduction tailored to his interests (both being football players).
  • Researched and prepared for technical questions related to the interviewer’s expertise in IoT, despite having limited knowledge in the area.
  • The interview lasted approximately 45 minutes with two panelists, one for verification and the other for technical questions.
  • Encountered a brief panic during the interview due to a lost signal, but the interviewers were understanding and didn’t mind the interruption.
  • Interview questions covered topics such as projects, final year projects, motivation for joining TCS, and long-term aspirations (10-year vision).
  • Preparing beforehand made it easy to confidently answer all the questions, including strengths and weaknesses.
  • Received the good news of being selected for the Ninja role at TCS around two months after the interview.
