TCS Interview Experience For TCS Digital

During our campus placement season, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) visited our campus in January 2024. The first round was the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), held on January 15, 2024. This test had sections on Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, and two coding sections. The Quant section tested our math skills, the Verbal section checked our English proficiency, and the Logic section assessed our problem-solving abilities. The coding sections challenged us with programming problems that we had to solve in a limited time.

After passing the first round, I was shortlisted for an interview for the TCS Digital role. The interview process had three stages: Technical Round (TR), Managerial Round (MR), and Human Resources Round (HR), all held on the same day.

In the Technical Round, they focused on my technical skills. I was asked to write a program to reverse a string, a common task to check basic programming skills. They also asked about Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles like inheritance and polymorphism, and about memory allocation in C, such as the difference between stack and heap memory.

The Managerial Round was about handling real-world work situations. They asked if I would be willing to move to different locations if needed. They also asked me to explain the software development life cycle (SDLC), which includes steps like planning, designing, coding, testing, and maintenance of software projects.

The Human Resources Round was more personal. They asked about problems I faced during my internship, especially while working on a group project. I talked about issues like coordinating with team members and managing different opinions. I explained how we solved these problems through good communication and teamwork.

Overall, the TCS interview process tested my technical knowledge, ability to handle work situations, and personal skills. Each stage checked different aspects of my abilities, ensuring that only well-rounded candidates were chosen for the TCS Digital role. This process helped me understand my strengths and areas where I could improve.
