TCS Interview Experience (On-Campus)

The TCS interview was one of the steps in the process for on-campus hiring. The TCS NQT examination scores were used to select candidates for this position.

Round 1: TCS NQT Exam

My college is one of the preferred campuses for TCS, so I took an online exam at ION Digital Zone in January 2024. In February, they published the results and fixed a campus interview appointment for the Digital role.

Round 2: Interview

There were three rounds of interviews: Technical Round, Managerial Round and HR Round. All these three rounds happened offline within the college premises.
During the interview, they asked me plenty of things. It started with the basics, Tell us about yourself and describe your family. They were also interested in what I understood about TCS. In the technical rounds, there were queries like explaining data science, various kinds of data used in data science, linear regression and median. I was asked about certain practical applications of data science, such as the application and function of the ‘desc’ library and the concept of a random forest. Other topics in the interview included the least mean square concept, newer technologies, the recommendation system, and the interpretation of a box plot.
They asked me to reverse a string but in one single line of code. Other questions were whether I’ve worked on image processing, what my strengths and weaknesses are, any achievements I was proud of, and if I had experience in leading a team. They also wanted to know if I was okay with night shifts, or if I had a preferred location where I wanted to work.

Finally, they asked me if I had any questions.
