Amazon Interview Experience As An Application Engineer

Hi Readers,
I have been interviewed by Amazon for the role of Application Engineer. The hiring process was totally online and it was a seamless process. I was working as a Reliability and Production Engineer at Morgan Stanley. I got a ping from Amazon recruiter on LinkedIn, about the vacany. Apart from this, I am really thankful to GOD, as I believe behind every success there is some luck as well.
So, coming to the process, there were a total of five rounds.

Round 1:

This round was a screening/telephonic round in which they have asked questions that were totally based on the tech stack that you mention in your resume. This lasts for around 40-60 minutes.

Round 2:

This round was a technical round. I don’t remember the exact coding questions that they have asked, but both are simple questions, complexity would be leet-code easy to questions. Two questions were provided and I was able to solve both the questions. So, First question was easy one, based upon this, the solution you provide and optimisation you did in the code, the difficulty level of next question is decided.

Round 3:

Again a technical round, I was given two coding questions and I was able to solve 1 question completely and the other one partially. However, the interviewer was convinced with my approach and apart from this, he asked me questions on the projects that I had done during B. Tech. and on the tech stacks that I was currently working on.

Round 4:

This was a special round also known as the Bar-Raiser round, where they analyse and test the candidate’s knowledge if he/she is capable of some other role which they have in their vacancy bucket or not. Also, this was a technical round for me.

Round 5:

This was a HR round, where the interviewer filters out if the candidate is a good fit as per the work culture in Amazon or not. (Quiet Easy, if you go through some articles on the company and be prepared of common questions, so that you can tackle and impress the interviewer.

After all this round, the recruiter reached out and I was selected. I was so happy and who won’t be happy as it’s everyone’s dream to work in FAANG/MAANG companies.

Last but not the least, don’t be tensed and remember that this is not the last company you are applying for.

Thank you for reading the post. Hope it helps. Cheers!
