Binmile Technologies Exam Experience
Written Exam Overview
I recently participated in a written exam at Binmile Technologies, held at their office. The exam was comprehensive, totaling 70 marks, and divided into three sections: Aptitude, English Comprehension, and SQL Queries.
Section 1: Aptitude
The first section of the exam was designed to test our quantitative and logical reasoning skills. It included a variety of questions such as numerical problems, logical puzzles, and data interpretation. These questions were intended to assess our problem-solving abilities and our capacity to think analytically within a limited time frame.
Section 2: English Comprehension
The second section focused on our command of the English language. It comprised reading comprehension passages, grammar, vocabulary, and sentence correction exercises. This section aimed to evaluate our ability to understand and interpret text accurately, as well as our overall language proficiency.
Section 3: SQL Queries
The final section was dedicated to SQL queries. We were provided with a table containing employees’ records and asked to perform several operations on this data. For instance, we had to calculate the total count of salaries, determine the count of employees from each department, and answer other similar queries. This section was crucial in assessing our practical knowledge and proficiency in SQL.
Passing Criteria
The criteria for passing the first round was set at 60% overall. This required a balanced and competent performance across all three sections to advance to the next stage of the selection process.
Technical Interview
Focus on Previous Projects
After successfully clearing the written exam, I was invited to participate in a technical interview. The interviewers primarily focused on my previous year projects, specifically those involving SQL. They asked detailed questions about the SQL queries I had worked on and the data structures I had utilized in my projects.
Emphasis on SQL and Data Structures
The technical interview was thorough, with a significant emphasis on SQL and data structures. The interviewers tested my practical experience and in-depth knowledge in these areas, ensuring I had a strong foundation and could apply my skills effectively in real-world scenarios.
Conclusion
Overall, the exam experience at Binmile Technologies was challenging yet rewarding. The written exam provided a well-rounded assessment of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, while the technical interview offered an opportunity to showcase my project work and expertise in SQL and data structures.
