IET Lucknow Fest Experience (Google Developer’s Student Club WOW’24)

Attending GDSC WOW’24 at IET Lucknow was a remarkable journey, filled with innovation, learning, and inspiration. As a volunteer and attendee, I had the unique opportunity to engage with some of the best minds in tech, covering a range of trending topics including containers, AI/ML, data science, open source, Copilot, UI/UX, and cybersecurity.

The event kicked off with an inaugural ceremony where the Director of IET Lucknow lit the ceremonial lamp, setting the tone for a day brimming with knowledge and excitement. The first session, “Learning Containers” by Mritunjay Kumar Sharma from Chainguard, was an eye-opener. He demonstrated how to create containers without using Docker, offering a fresh perspective on container technology.

Next up was my favourite, Priyanshi R., who led an engaging session on Copilot. Her insights on how Copilot aids developers were enlightening, and I even had the chance to answer some questions during her session. Shivam Joshi, founder of CODON, shared invaluable survival tips for navigating the challenges posed by AI and ML advancements. His session was truly mind-opening.

Kartik Gupta’s talk on open source and freelancing was particularly inspiring. Hearing about his journey with GSoC at Qdrant and tips for getting into open source was motivating for aspiring developers. Prateek Mishra delivered the coolest session on cloud computing. His guidance on starting with cloud basics was immensely helpful.

Deeksha Gupta, co-founder of Hunto AI, introduced us to OSINT, explaining its significance for beginners in cybersecurity. Vanshita Singh’s session on efficient design covered everything from graphic design to UI/UX, emphasizing the crucial role of creativity in tech. The event concluded with Prashant Shukla’s deep dive into Image Processing with AI.

His step-by-step explanation of the process was both detailed and accessible. Overall, GDSC WOW’24 was a great event packed with learning and networking opportunities. It was a day well spent, gaining insights from industry leaders and connecting with fellow tech enthusiasts
