IIIT Vadodara Admission Experience

Getting into IIIT Vadodara was a journey full of excitement and decisions. With my JEE Main rank around 12k (94 percentile), I was hopeful about getting into popular branches like Computer Science (CSE), Information Technology (IT), or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).

During the counselling process, I got offers from different IIITs for their CSE programs, which was awesome. But I didn’t choose my college this quickly. I also tried my luck in the CSAB round, which is another counselling round, and luckily, I got a seat at IIIT Vadodara for CSE in the final round.

For me, the admission criteria were clear. I needed to be around the 13k rank mark in JEE Mains for the CSE program. Meeting this requirement was a big relief and got me even more excited about joining IIIT Vadodara.

While all this was happening, I also looked into options closer to home, like colleges in Maharashtra and Karnataka. During jee time I also took exams like MHTCET and COMEDK so that I could get into colleges in Maharashtra and Karnataka as well. I even considered IGDTUW and participated in its counselling process. But because the final round was taking too long, I decided to go with IIIT Vadodara, which made me really happy.

While navigating through this process, I extensively researched various colleges to make an informed decision. I explored websites like College Duniya and others, comparing factors such as college reputation, eligibility criteria, and fees. Additionally, I also looked at experiences shared on platforms like w3wiki (GFG). These online resources played a significant role in helping me choose the right college for myself.

Dealing with the admission process during the pandemic was a bit tricky. Everything had to be done online, which meant lots of virtual meetings and following instructions carefully.

Now that I’m studying B.Tech in CSE at IIIT Vadodara, the courses have been a mix of everything. In the beginning, we covered a range of subjects like physics, maths, electrical engineering and a few more. But as we moved forward, the focus shifted to computer science topics like data structures, algorithms, networks, databases etcetera.

Looking back, my admission journey at IIIT Vadodara taught me a lot about making decisions, seizing opportunities, and adapting to new situations. It’s now my final year at my college adventure, and I’m excited to see where I will be after this college.
