IISER Berhampur Admission Experience

I took admission in one of the most prestigious research college which is IISER Berhampur. I had given a lot of exams which also include JEE mains where I didn`t able to get my dream college but I think wherever I am now, I am far more happy. research college have the respect. i know the condition of research students in India is not that good but in foreign it has high demands and hope in India too it will have demands in near future.

I don`t cleared my JEE exam due to my bad performance in 12th board. IAT exam doesn`t have 75% criteria. for applying for IISER exam one just needs 60% in 12th board which is normal criteria for most of the colleges. earlier only the first dropper was able to give the IAT exam but now second dropper can also give the exam which is a very good initiative taken by IAT committee.

IAT exam is similar to nest exam. IAT is for IISER and nest is for NISER. the IAT exam consists of 15 questions each of physics, chemistry, math and biology and we have to attempt all the sections but only three sections in nest(for NISER Bhubaneswar) exam. the question is little above 12th board and less than JEE. there will be opportunity for PCMB students but PCM and PCB students can also perform good in this if they practice well. Its a 240 marks question and one should target approx. 100 to 120 to get at least newest IISER. Now IISC Bengaluru and IIT madras BS program is also added in it. So the opportunity is more competition is more but seats are limited.

Also in this if you float you have chance to get upgraded IISER but if you freeze you lock the IISER and then pay the seat acceptance fee which is nearly half the semester fee then rest during the admission. You must keep an eye on the mail about when to come to the college for admission and what documents are required in which format.

one most important thing is that the fee at IISER is pretty high like it goes approx. 8 lakhs for complete 5 years course as it is also as prestigious as IITs. the only difference is that IITs are for job perspective and IISERs are for research perspective. So, one can apply with scholarship or loan or can apply either. but overall it is a very good college with a huge opportunities in India as well as foreign too.
