The National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023 for engineering has been released. 8 of the 23 IITs are in the top 10 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development-NIRF engineering ranking.

After a candidate appears for the JEE Advanced examination, the next step is to sit for the Joint Seat Allocation Authority counselling. The authority regulates and manages the joint seat allocation for admissions to all 23 IITs, 23 Indian Institutes of Information Technology, 31 National Institutes of Technology, and 23 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes. Admissions to every BTech programme offered at IITs are conducted via this single-counselling platform.
