JSSATEN Noida Campus Experience

The most exciting thing that happened after 12th is that we got into colleges and college life is fun!! I’m from an engineering background. I had done BTech in Computer Science And Engineering(CSE) .

The campus of the college is beautiful and mesmerizing. I had seen the college once before being admitted into it. The college is in a prime location at sector 62 Noida. Since it is near Delhi, the students used to hang out there on the weekends. The college offered various branches like CSE, CSE-AIML, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, EE, EEE, etc. The college becomes more beautiful when we make good friends out there. There are four academic blocks AB1, AB2, AB3, AB4, AB5. The ragging is completely banned there.

FIRST-YEAR:

ACADEMICS:

During the first month of my first year, we used to discover the campus because every new thing attracted attention. Focused much on academics because it was going to be the first semester and thus analyzed the syllabus and how the type of questions are asked in the exam and what is the question pattern and many more…After the first semester the result was wonderful. Got to know about questions asked in exams and how to score good marks there. That thing everyone must be aware of during their first semester.

During the second semester, focus on skill building. Doesn’t matter if you move at a slower pace but consistency should be maintained. Every day try to study any coding topic and revise it the next day. The college environment is also supportive. Especially the seniors of the college who are perfect in such domains help a lot. The nice place to study is in the library. Because there is no noise as compared to outside and you can focus there easily and there are no distractions.

Every semester’s result is of much importance. Everyone should maintain a good CGPA of above 8.5 or 9 because some companies that come for placements set criteria of a minimum number of CGPA one must possess to be eligible to sit in interviews. So try to possess a good CGPA.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR

The fests is also conducted in the college every year to cheer up extra-curricular activities and a week relaxation from academics for a while. The students got a better opportunity to showcase their skills here like of programming, designing, dance, music, management etc. Apart from this, Hackathons are also conducted to cheer up technical skills and this event shapes the domain skills a lot.

SECOND YEAR:

During this time, everyone selects a domain of their choice like programming, designing, DSA, Web Development etc and starts learning and practising it and make many good projects on it. DSA is very important and it should be practised by everyone who belongs to the technical field. Practice DSA 2-3 questions daily or more than that to make consistency in learning. The core subjects of the respective branch should be studied properly as they are asked by interviews and are also important for the preparation of exams like GATE etc. Time management should be done in a proper way to gain a fruitful output. The students becomes more focussed towards their career during this year as compared to first year.

THIRD YEAR:

This year comes with stress as it is near to the final year. The students starts preparing for the interviews of the company they want to get in. At the same time making more new projects so as to create a dynamic and attractive Resume. Some also do some internships so as to gain knowledge of the work in the industries. These internships helps a lot during the placements and also adds an additional star to your Resume. A preparation and internship period of 1 or 2 months is given after the third year in which one can prepare well and can do on-site internships.

FINAL YEAR:

Final year comes with new opportunities as companies started coming for the placements. All the notes and skills are to be revised in this year. Students register themselves for the companies from the Placement cell present in the college. Placement include many rounds:

1. Aptitude Test

2.Group Discussion

3. Resume Preparation

4. Technical Interview

5. HR Interview

After the candidate had passed all these rounds then he is eligible for full-time job at the respective company. Placement Statistics of a college depend on the capabilities of its students. The more they are capable, there is a higher chance of getting a good and a decent salary package.

Lastly, college life must be enjoyed to the fullest but at the same time it must be utilized for further improvement and better learning.
