L.D. College of Engineering Admission Experience

“Your current situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come.” – Zig Ziglar

I hail from Ahmedabad, a heritage city located in the heart of Gujarat. Currently, I am pursuing my studies at L.D. College of Engineering. Through my first blog, I aim to reach out to young readers who dream of gaining admission to prestigious engineering colleges across India.

I was never a bright student, and like many others, I hated doing homework and avoided attending school until the 9th grade. My performance in 9th grade was dismal; I nearly failed in Maths and Science. However, fate intervened when COVID-19 entered India and spread across Ahmedabad. With the announcement of mass promotion, I found myself promoted to the 10th grade.

Determined to achieve greatness, I took charge of my education. My mother, a college professor, assisted me in learning some topics in Maths. Surprisingly, I completed the entire Maths syllabus on my own within two months of the lockdown. This was my first step towards a brighter future. I continued to study all subjects of class 10 independently and felt confident as the board exams approached.

Despite my confidence, the second and dangerous wave of COVID-19 hit the country, and I was promoted to the 11th grade. Opting He couldn’t pass Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) in science, I faced rejection from my school principal. He believed I would never pass 12th grade Science, considering me a dull student. His words ignited a fire within me. Determined to prove him wrong, I excelled in 11th and 12th grade, surpassing every student who had been ahead of me.

As the board exams neared, I felt both nervous and confident. When the results were announced, I achieved a 97 percentile and scored 94 marks in Maths. Though I had aimed for 97 in Maths, I was content with my performance. What made me ecstatic was being the highest scorer in my school, surpassing every topper from my class and even the toppers from my previous school.

I still remember the words of my school principal; he said, “He can’t pass in the Science stream; he must take arts or commerce. If he would take Science Stream he will fail.”

“When someone tells you it can’t be done, it’s more a reflection of their limitations, not yours.”
