Sakura Yamauchi is a high school student who suffers from a rare pancreas disease but hides it from as she wants to lead a normal life. Another high school student finds her diary in a hospital room and realizes that they both go to the same school. He finds out about her secret but was not shocked by it. Sakura finds this interesting in him and becomes close to him. Soon the both spend time together and also go on trips. They do all of Sakura’s bucket list things together. A tragedy befalls them as Sakura was stabbed. She leaves a note for him and at the end of the series his name is revealed, Haruki Shiga.
