The Philadelphia Story (1940)
When the genre is about romantic comedies movie and the movie to be picked is from the 1940s, the first name that pops up in the mind is The Philadelphia Story (1944). Based on the play of the same name by Philip Barry, this movie was directed by George Cukor with a wonderful screenplay by Donald Stewart. The movie starts to get interesting when Dexter appears at the wedding so that he can save his ex-wife from the cunning-minded Mike Connor (James Stewart).
