He was born into a wrestler family as his father and his tag team partner Tony Atlas were named the first black tag team champions in WWE history, in the year 1983.
Apart from his father, his mother, Ata Johnson is the adopted daughter of Peter Maivia, who was also a professional wrestler. Although his school time was that pleasing during his school days, he was arrested by police multiple times for fighting, fraud, and theft. Later on, his school Football coach identified his athletic potential and join Johnson on the school football team, where he played defensive tackle.
