Explaining SAP R/3 Architecture
- Presentation Layer: The SAP system’s user interface, or Presentation Layer, is how end users communicate with it. It covers gadgets including computers, desktops, and mobile devices. Web browsers or user interfaces with graphics such SAP GUI (Graphical User Interface) are used by users to access SAP R/3.
- Application Layer: The primary processing element that handles application functionality and carries out business logic is called the Application Layer. It is made up of many application servers, each of which may manage a different SAP module (FI, MM, for example). In order to get or change data, application servers interact with the database layer.
- Database Layer: The data that SAP R/3 uses is managed and stored by the Database Layer. A system for managing relational databases (RDBMS) like SAP HANA, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle is one of its components. Master data, transactional information, and configuration settings required for SAP applications are all stored in the database.

SAP R/3 is also known as a System application and products in data processing. SAP R/3 plays a significant role in information management and process automation. The “3” in R/3 represents the three-tier architecture, Presentation Layer, Application Layer, and Database Layer, consisting of the components that collectively form the foundation of SAP R/3 systems. SAP R/3 is a full-featured business suite that combines many company operations to improve productivity.
