In India, there are two groups of islands. Lakshwadeep islands which are located in the Arabian Sea and are close to the Malabar coast of Kerala and are referred to as the smaller groups of coral islands. The administrative capital of Lakshadweep is Kavaratti Island. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located in the Bay of Bengal and are in an elevated portion of submerged mountains as they lie close to the equator, they remain hot and wet throughout the year and have dense forests in it.
Islands are little parcels encompassed by water, on all sides. They can be in the middle between oceans, seas, and lakes, or in the middle between waterways.
