History of OTG
- The OTG standard was introduced by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) in 2001. It is an extension of the USB 2.0 specification.
- OTG aimed to enable mobile devices (smartphones and tablets ) to connect directly to USB peripherals without needing a computer or additional hardware.
- The first devices to support OTG were released in 2002. since then, the OTG has become increasingly popular. nowadays most smartphones and tablets support OTG. it has become a standard feature in many mobile devices.
OTG Full Form
The full form of OTG is On-The-Go. OTG is used to connect the device directly with another OTG-compatible device. Normally, we use computers or mediators to connect devices to each other. but now with the OTG technology device, it is very easier. We can connect headphones, speakers, and other audio devices to our mobile devices and external displays for video playback. OTG is a small but great technology it enhances the capability of connectivity of our devices.
