My Journey and Exam Preparation Strategy

So, I started my preparation in the month of October 2022 and the exam was to be conducted in the month of March 2023, so I had almost 6 months to prepare for this exam. I started by looking at the syllabus, what are the different sections that are being asked in this entrance exam and so on. By looking at the syllabus of each subject, I decided that I should focus more on Mathematics as compared to other sections as they can be covered in the last 1.5 or 2 months. You should also focus on Mathematics as it is one of the sections containing highest marks, if you are not securing good marks in Mathematics, then you will not be able to get a good rank, therefore decreasing your chances of getting a good college. First, I covered most of the syllabus of Mathematics and then started giving mock tests on different platforms such as Testbook, EduGorilla, and also purchased some test series of different coaching institutes. So, in the starting I couldn’t get a good rank in the mock test, but I practiced a lot and slowly and steadily started getting good marks.

Also, side by side I started practicing reasoning and computer by giving mock tests only. Mock tests are a good way of analysing your performance. They tell you where you are lagging, how much more practice is needed in a particular topic and so on and so forth. I suggest you to buy some good test series that different coaching institutes are providing. The test series consists of sectional mock tests i.e. mock tests only of Mathematics section, then another sectional mock test consisting only of Reasoning section, etc. Also, test series consists of full length mock tests which are the most important and you should try to give atleast 10 full length mock test so that you get a clear idea of how much time I should give to each section. So, overall I would conclude this part by saying that “Mock tests are a great way of analysing oneself.”
