Magnetism from Electricity Experiment
Objective:
- Observing the relationship between electricity and magnetism.
Materials Needed:
- Battery, paper clips, insulated copper wire, long iron nail, compass.
Procedure:
- Place a nail next to a compass to observe any magnetic effect.
- Wrap copper wire around the nail, connect it to a battery, and place it near the compass.
- Discuss the magnetism generated by the electric current in the wire.
- Touch the nail to paper clips to observe magnetization effects.
- Wrap the nail with more wire coils and observe the increased magnetic field strength.
Observation:
It is observed that there is deflection in the needle of compass when current passes through the wire

Materials Needed:
- Ammeter, copper wire, bar magnet.
Procedure:
- Coil copper wire and connect it to an ammeter.
- Move the coil or magnet such that there is relative motion between them.
- Record observations on the generation of electricity.
- Discuss the relationship between magnetism and electricity.
Observation:
When there is relative motion between wire and the magnet, ammeter shows deflection which confirms the generation of current
