World Bank has worked on Narmada Bachao Andolan after clearance from Narmada Water Disputes Tribunal. In the year 1985, World Bank agreed for financing the Sardar Sarovar Dam with a contribution of around 450 million dollars without consultation with the indigenous population. World Banks participation in these projects came to be canceled in the year 1993.
