Kanyakumari is the smallest district of Tamil Nadu in terms of land area. It has a total land area of 1672 square kilometres. It is located at the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula, where the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean meet. Its approximate population is 1,870,485 according to the 2021 census. It has a literacy rate of 80 per cent as per 2011 percent which is one of the highest in Tamil Nadu.
