Download and Install WordPress
Now, you can download and install WordPress on your Kali Linux system. Follow these steps:
Download WordPress:
Change to the Apache web root directory and download the latest version of WordPress:
cd /var/www/html
sudo wget https://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz
Extract WordPress:
Extract the downloaded WordPress archive:
sudo tar -zxvf latest.tar.gz
Set Permissions:
Set the correct permissions for WordPress files and directories:
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/wordpress
sudo chmod -R 755 /var/www/html/wordpress
Configure WordPress:
Rename the sample configuration file and edit it with your database information:
cd /var/www/html/wordpress
sudo cp wp-config-sample.php wp-config.php
sudo nano wp-config.php
Update the database details in the wp-config.php file:
define('DB_NAME', 'wordpress');
define('DB_USER', 'wordpressuser');
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password');
Complete Installation:
Open your web browser and navigate to `http://localhost/wordpress` (replace localhost with your server’s IP address if accessing remotely). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the WordPress installation.
Finish Setup:
Enter your site title, create a username and password for the admin account, and provide an email address. Click on “Install WordPress” to finish the setup.
