Many types of aestivation patterns include Valvate, Twisted, Imbricate, Crumpled, Vexillary, and Quincunicial. these patterns play a role in protecting the Reproductive structure of the flower and ensuring successful Pollination. It is also known as praefoliation or prefoliation.
