A Techfest is an event that brings together the brightest minds in the world of technology and engineering. It is a platform where students, researchers, and industry leaders converge to share their ideas, showcase their innovations, and engage in thought-provoking discussions. In the heart of campus, tech enthusiasts from all over the city gathered for “PRISM”, an inter-collegiate tech fest filled with excitement and innovation. Being part of the organizing team, was an incredible experience as I was able to see firsthand how months of planning turned into a fantastic event that brought people together to celebrate technology.
Let’s delve into the highlights of this exhilarating celebration of technology and innovation.

PRISM 2024 offered an incredible array of captivating activities and tasks that catered to the varied interests and abilities of the participants. The program’s activities had been carefully chosen by the organizers to motivate participants’ creativity and open their minds. Now let’s explore the fascinating events that contributed to PRISM 2024 being a genuinely remarkable experience:

1. Bug Thug: The Bug Thug event was a fiercely competitive coding challenge that put the problem-solving skills of participants to the test. The competitors’ ability to think critically was put to the test as they had to work quickly to go through complex code and win.
2. Code Mesh: Coders squared off in intense challenges, pushing the boundaries of their programming prowess and problem-solving skills to the test. This event was a pattern recognition contest where the participants had to write the program code for the patterns given to them.
3. Capture The Flag (CTF): The adrenaline-fueled CTF competition challenged participants to decrypt codes and solve puzzles, showcasing their expertise in hacking and cryptography. This event was a cybersecurity event in which participants had to attempt to find text strings or short codes, called ‘flags’, that will be secretly hidden in purposefully-vulnerable programs or websites, hosted on GitHub.
4. Algorithmic Arena: Enthusiastic problem-solvers tackled algorithmic challenges head-on, applying their analytical acumen to real-world scenarios. This event was a competitive programming contest. Here, the participant had to solve the given questions by writing optimized and efficient program codes.
5. Robo Soccer: Robotics enthusiasts battled it out on the field, showcasing their engineering finesse and teamwork in crafting and manoeuvring robotic players.
6. Build the Bridge: Teams put their engineering skills to the test, constructing robust bridges capable of withstanding weight and adversity.
7. Green Building Drawing: Participants unleashed their creativity in designing sustainable structures, promoting eco-conscious architectural innovation.
8. Best out of Waste: Creativity met sustainability as participants repurposed discarded materials into ingenious creations, exemplifying the ethos of recycling and resourcefulness.
9. Circuit Designing: Electronics aficionados showcased their prowess in crafting circuits, from basic prototypes to advanced applications, pushing the boundaries of innovation in electrical engineering.

Apart from these tech events Prism 2024 also included some fun and creative events like After Movie, Octo Draw challenge, Snap It and various quizzes.

As a future engineer, attending PRISM 2024 was a life-changing event that will never fade from my perspective. The calibre of participants and the sheer diversity of events were extremely impressive, demonstrating the limitless ingenuity and problem-solving skills of the upcoming generation of innovators. Being a part of the core organizing committee was an incredible experience. I was able to witness the rigorous amounts of effort that are put behind organizing a Techfest. From facing new challenges and learning from them to making new connections Prism had everything in hand.
