TCS TAG NQT Interview Experience

Navigating the pattern-based Insights and Experiences

Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in the TCS TAG NQT (Tata Consultancy Services Talent Acquisition Group National Qualifier Test), which served as a gateway to an interview at TCS. The exam, held on February 9, 2024.

I got this opportunity through trailhead and Salesforce.

They were offering two packages through this exam: Ninja and Digital

The exam encompassed sections on Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning, each featuring questions of varying difficulty levels—ranging from easy to moderate to tough. Numerical and quantitative questions covered a wide array of topics, including Time and Distance, Equations, Speed, Work and Day, and Probability. Similarly, reasoning questions explored concepts such as series patterns, Clock, Dice, Folding Images, Symmetry, Mirror/Water Images, and pattern-based Clocks.

Coding Section:

There were two questions. Despite initial confusion due to the length and complexity of the problems, candidates found the questions manageable upon closer examination. However, using their compiler was quite challenging.

The first coding question proved puzzling initially but it was solvable using if-else conditions.

The second coding question, resembling the maximum sum subarray problem, was simpler to grasp.

Preparation Insights:

This experience underscored the importance of not only mastering the core concepts but also familiarising oneself with diverse question types and the exam interface to navigate challenges efficiently.

Conclusion:

My journey to clearing the TCS TAG NQT exam taught me the value of consistent practice and comprehensive preparation. By dedicating a few months to solving various question types, I built the confidence needed to succeed. For future candidates, I believe that focused practice and perseverance are key to clear the exam.
