Students who want to pursue careers in engineering/architecture are required to take the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE), a state-level competitive entrance exam with more than a lakh students appearing for the test. Not the hardest exams in the world, though it is my advise to prepare well to get admission into the top engineering colleges in West Bengal. The exam is well-known for its tricky questions, extensive subject coverage, and the most importent is the time limits.

In April 2024, feedback from students indicated that the WBJEE paper was generally of moderate difficulty. Physics questions were deemed relatively straightforward, while Chemistry ranged from easy to moderately easy. Mathematics posed a moderate challenge. The question paper comprehensively covered topics from both Class XI and XII Board chapters, ensuring a balanced representation. Many students noted that this year’s paper was simpler compared to previous years. Additionally, several coaching facilities conducted in-depth analyses of the WBJEE 2024 paper, providing valuable insights for aspirants.

Students should start preparing by creating a schedule, focusing on managing time well, and staying disciplined. Here are some key points for them to consider:

It’s recommended by mentors and top achievers to devote 6 to 8 hours daily to studying. Taking regular breaks during study sessions is advisable as it helps clear the mind and enhance focus for upcoming studies.

A good study plan involves concentrated 25-minute study sessions, followed by a 5- to 10-minute break to refresh your memory and rest briefly.
