IIIT Kota Admission Experience

When I received the JEE Mains results and qualified, I became eligible for JEE Mains counseling.

Registration

The counseling process began with registration and a fee payment of Rs. 4000. The next step was choice filling, where I needed to select colleges in order of preference. Initially, I was confused and didn’t know which colleges to prioritize, and there wasn’t much information about each college’s different branches.

Choice Filling

I started researching colleges to gather more information. I even visited Kota to seek advice on this matter. At the Allen Institute, I met with a knowledgeable counselor who asked for my rank and provided guidance on college preferences based on the options available to me. Following his advice, I filled out my choices and locked them in.

Counseling Rounds

The counseling process comprised six rounds:

  • 1st Round: I was allocated Civil Engineering at NIT Bhopal.
  • 2nd Round: I received Civil Engineering at Nagpur.
  • 3rd Round: I was offered a seat at PEC Chandigarh.
  • 4th Round: ECE at IIIT Dharwad.
  • 5th Round: ECE at IIIT Kurnool.
  • 6th Round: Another offer for ECE at IIIT Kurnool, with no changes, though I hadn’t locked any choices.

CSAB Rounds

This stage was critical, akin to a do-or-die situation, where I had to either accept or forfeit my seat. Again, a fee of Rs. 4000 was required.

In the 1st CSAB round, I secured ECE at IIIT Kota, and in the 2nd round, I received the same offer again. I decided to finalize it and proceeded with physical reporting.

Physical Reporting

I had six days for physical reporting, and I chose to go on the 5th day. Upon entering the college, I was impressed by its vast infrastructure and expansive campus. Seeking guidance from senior students, I was directed to the auditorium where all new students and seniors gathered. The atmosphere was welcoming and supportive.

Accompanied by my parents, I completed the necessary paperwork and prepared for physical verification and fee payment. The verification process took about 3 to 4 hours as all my documents were meticulously checked. Finally, I was issued a hostel allotment card, marking the completion of the process.
