Hadid had an unmedicated home birth
Gigi Hadid chose to have her daughter Khai at home to avoid the hospital during the peak of the pandemic. She was not alone during the birth; Zayn Malik, her mother Yolanda, her sister Bella, a midwife, and her assistant were all there to support her. The birth happened in an inflatable pool set up in her bedroom.
Gigi described the birth as a very intense and instinctual experience. She felt she needed to use all her strength to handle the pain. She thought about the possibility of having an epidural and wondered how it might have changed her experience. However, her midwife encouraged her, telling her she was doing well and that it was too late for an epidural. The midwife also told her that even in a hospital, she would have to push in the same way.
