India’s Contribution to United Nations Democracy Fund
India is one of the partner in the United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF). This Fund supports the projects which implements new ideas to improve democracy and to promote human rights, and encourage the civil society to participate in democracy processes.
India is the third largest contributor to the United Nations Democracy Fund. It has contributed more than US$ 32 million by highlighting its strong commitment to democratic principles and values. India gave the support for UNDEF in crucial time for democracy efforts worldwide. India has contributed USD 150,000 to the UNDEF in the year 2022. India expresses it support for UNDEF as it plays a unique role in supporting other UN efforts to strengthen democratic governance around the world.
