Projects Funded by United Nations Democracy Fund

Despite receiving an average of 2,000-3,000 proposals annually, only around 50 projects are selected through a competitive process.There are some projects that are funded by UNDEF are –

  1. Pilot Project for Joint Civil and Voter Registry (CVR) in Afghanisthan: This project will set the base for a nationwide programme which was scheduled to implement in 2007/2008. This project had been granted amount upto USD 336,567.
  2. Strengthening the Voice and Visibility of Women in Elections: This project focuses on women in African elections. It is all about to promote the linked communication activities for journalists, female candidates and women organizations. It was held on Feb 2007-Dec 2008. It was funded upto USD 253,000.
  3. Role of Parliaments in implementing UN human rights treaties: This project works on improving compliance systems among African Countries who is speaking. It had been received USD 340,995.
  4. Organizing women against corruption: The main goal of the project is to help the women in Argentina from their struggles against corruption. This project will help them through the public awareness campaigns on gender-specific issues, journalist training, and anti-corruption positions of candidates during the 2007 election campaign. It was held on Feb 2007 – Dec 2008 and funded upto USD 300,000.
